Turmeric or haldi is capable of preventing and healing Alzheimer’s disease.

Having chemo-protective properties- turmeric can protect you from a number of cancers like colon cancer, cancer of the prostate, T-cell leukaemia, radiation induced tumours and breast cancers.

It can be used as an effective agent in treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA) because of the anti inflammatory and anti oxidative properties.

The curcumin present in turmeric and being an antioxidant,it helps in controlling Diabetes.

Drinking hot milk with half a tea spoon of turmeric helps in fighting cough and cold.

Prevents liver disease.

Lowers cholesterol

Methods of Consuming Turmeric

You can consume turmeric either as seasoning or just as it is.

The best way is to have turmeric tea. Boil 4 cups of water, add 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and keep for 10 minutes. Strain using a fine strainer if necessary, and then mix in a little honey and lemon – your medicinal turmeric tea is ready.

Turmeric- As A Beauty Agent

 Due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, turmeric is effective in the treatment of acne .  You can prepare a face pack by mixing turmeric powder and sandalwood powder and adding lemon juice to the mixture. Apply it on your face for 10 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. That fight pimples and breakouts to provide a youthful glow to your skin.

Turmeric can reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  You can prepare a face pack by mixing turmeric powder and rice powder with raw milk and tomato juice and apply it on your face and neck for 30 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Your stretch marks can lighten if you apply turmeric. Use besan (gram flour) and make a mixture of besan (gram flour) and turmeric with yoghurt/raw milk/ water and apply on the stretch mark.

In case of burns, turmeric can provide quick relief. A mixture of turmeric and aloe vera gel on the burn, can be used as an antiseptic
