Oppo is the latest Chinese name to offer 4G LTE powered mid-range devices in the country with its R7 series of phone and phablet. The handset manufacturer has been known for pricing its products rather steeply till now, and with the R7 series things seem to have changed for good.
The brand has opted for the less-power hogging Snapdragon 615 CPU with 3GB RAM on the R7 Plus, while going with 1GB RAM for the R7 Lite. On the software side of things, Oppo is said to have improved its Color OS 2.1 version (based on Android 5.1 Lollipop).
You’ll also find fingerprint scanner, 32GB storage innards on the bigger R7 Plus that gets a 6-inch display with full HD AMOLED resolution, and R7 Lite gets a manageable 5-inch HD AMOLED display support. Both devices get fast-charging support, which Oppo preaches for each of its high-end product, so it’s good to see them moving to the mid-range devices as well.
On the imaging front, the R7 Plus and R7 Lite come fitted with a 13MP back camera and an 8MP shooter on the front. Oppo is said to have made use of curved screen for both R7 Plus and R7 Lite, giving it the required set of design dynamics and sturdier ergonomics as well.
The gargantuan-sized Oppo R7 Plus and Oppo R7 Lite are priced at Rs 27,990 and Rs 17,990 respectively, putting the devices in direct competition with phones like OnePlus 2 and Samsung Galaxy A8 among others.
