Li Chun Means Beginning of Chinese Spring

 

 

 

Li Chun brings spring and marks the beginning of busy farming, which is closely related to the peasants’ life and fortune. They celebrate the beginning of Li Chun with ceremonies and worships. There is a tradition in china to eat red radishes and spring pancakes. This tradition is known as Yao Chun. This tradition is celebrated with the hope for an auspicious new year. In the Chinese lunisolar calendar, New Year’s Day might be before or after Li Chun.
